Two union contract were briefly discussed last night at the School Board

Article 3 - Londonderry Support Staff [AFSCME Local 1801] Bargaining Agreement
Article 5 - Londonderry Custodians [AFSCME Local 1801] Bargaining Agreement

Did you know that if you are an employee that is covered by one of the unions you don't have to join the union.

If you don't join the union you still have to pay union dues!

That is correct Glen, NH is a "closed shop" state. People who do not join the union still have to pay for union activity that deals with handling contracts, negotiations and office work. Currently, the legislature has a bill called "Right to Work" on the docket for a vote sometime. This bill would elimanate the "agency fee" such people as above would pay.
